Giving senior pets a second chance at life

We provide homeless senior animals with the care, comfort and compassion that they deserve.

What we do

Our goal is to work with local animal shelters, rescues, and community members, toward a future where no pet is euthanized or homeless due simply to age.

Partnering with local animal shelters

Many shelters around the country are overcrowded and unable to provide care or to find homes for all of the animals that come their way. We are able to provide some relief to those overburdened shelters by taking in their oldest animals. Whether they come to our hospice to live out their final weeks/months/years surrounded by love and full time care, or whether they have many good years ahead them and just need help finding the right home, Elderpaw is dedicated to providing these animals with the care and respect that they deserve, while freeing up some space and resources for other shelter animals.

Providing community support

Oftentimes, loving pet owners are forced to make decisions that they never thought they'd have to face. Too often, people have to say goodbye to a beloved older animal due to the inability to pay for vet treatment, medications or pet food. Older people find themselves physically unable to care for their pets, or are not able to bring them along to nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Through our upcoming pet food pantry, donations and volunteer caretakers, we strive to help pets stay with their families whenever possible. And through our network of foster families, we aim to make the transition to assisted living or nursing homes easier for those who must give up their pets, with the reassurance that they will be well cared for.

How you can help

Adopting a senior animal is one of the most rewarding decisions you can make! These wonderful older pets may have a few more years behind them, but they still have so much love to give. By opening your home, you’re offering them a peaceful, loving environment to enjoy their golden years.

Join our growing family of volunteers today!

Whether you can lend a hand at events, assist with daily care, or offer your unique skills behind the scenes — and whether you have a couple hours a week, a month, or even a year — your time and heart can help transform many lives.

We are always looking to expand our foster base, and need a variety of foster types. If you have room in your home and in your heart, please consider becoming a foster parent to an animal in need.

Of course, we can't do any of this without donations. Your generosity can make all the difference to an animal in need. Every donation helps provide food, shelter, and medical care, enabling us to continue our mission of providing older animals with the care and comfort they deserve.
